Abstract
In the volume under discussion here, which collects and analyses a large corpus of interviews, Bourdieu proposes methodological reflec-tions both in the introductory essays and especially in the chapter en-titled ‘Understanding’. Amongst his writings, another essay, L’illu-sion biographique, likewise proposes to discuss certain themes relat-ing to the biographical approach. Starting from these texts, some re-flections on the methodological approach of Bourdieu’s research work are proposed. In particular, two themes are addressed: the first concerns the status attributed, in sociological research, to the word of the person answering the sociologist’s questions, a status that changes in relation to the theoretical-methodological approach chosen; the second concerns the interaction and thus the type of relationship that exists/can exist between these two figures, especially when the re-search involves the physical co-presence of the interlocutors
Keywords: Pierre Bourdieu, methodology, life stories
